Gone were the flitting days of offensive sieges on League occupied territory. Arm and arm, hand in hand, the men of Rocket's yesterdays had begun to step into their new roles as king and royal guard.

It certainly took more than a few days to adjust. Going from an Admin to a royal guard wasn't your everyday switch, especially given the medieval tinge this region spun onto everything, but as with all things, adjustments were made over time, much like how weed may spring up from the cracks of cement, Felix came to fulfilling his newfound set of responsibilities.

Hand tightened around the neck of two bottles, the twilight knight made his presence known with a rough clearing of his throat.

"Hope I'm not disturbing anything."

Jayden -- his former colleague, then king, now friend -- was perched against the decorated railing of the castle's balcony. It was a cool summer night, lit up by fireflies and the glow of luminescent mushrooms. Felix set his arrangement -- two glasses, two bottles -- on top of the sole table out in the center of the balcony space, between the two red cushioned chairs.

"Long day?"

he was a king.

[break][break] the clothes provided to him by the peasantry were about as unfitting as the role was. they made him feel suffocated and uneasy, as if he was being pushed into a role that was not meant for him. he could not help but think that others like would have suited the role more, or the countless others that he could think to fill his position. but then he thought of 's words of certainty, of his duty towards responsibility to protect all the rockets that had come alongside them.

[break][break] ballonea's king sat atop a balcony with his thoughts, while he watched the tiny figures scramble about as they tried to reconfigure their town. he witnessed from afar mingling with civilians, and carrying cinderblocks to protect the pokemon center, and even hopping around, chatting happily with one and his patron.

[break][break] in the safety of the king suite, however, jayden's mask was placed to the side. he tensed, however, upon hearing footsteps — only to relax to hear 's voice.

"It could be worse."

They would know, considering the hell they've been through. They were brothers cut from the same cloth; born from rockets, now decorated with gold and steel.

At first, these facts kept them distant; Felix couldn't afford to grow close to another coworker. It would only add more to his plate.

But here, with endless time at their disposal, it felt almost natural to open up to one another.

"What's up with you."

He cracked open his bottle and took a swing from its neck.
